The Garden of Eden, Everywhere
So what do you know about catabolic and anabolic energy? What do you know about meta-views and holographic thinking? This personal reflection gives good illustrations of them all.
My husband and I moved to our current house a year ago – on March 19, 2020 to be exact… This, of course, was just on the cusp of the mandated and understandable quarantine imposed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We thought: Great, just as we are in a bigger space that would have allowed us to realize a goal of entertaining groups of people, this had to happen. This is an example of catabolic (destructive, breaking down) energy. Understandably we were quite bummed with the timing!
A year later we are busily getting ready for entertaining our first group of people. It is still several weeks off, however there is artwork to get up on walls and more boxes to unload and/or store away for the time being. There is also more to do outside in the yard, for this will be a “garden party.” When a friend encouraged us to think of doing a gathering my heart did a flip and my intuition nudged my logical mind to come up with the idea of a “garden party,” outside, where people could be more comfortable. This emotional, intuitive, and logical thinking is an example of holographic thinking.
Just this morning I went to the local garden store and bought four new terra cotta pots to plant annuals in and display in our back yard, on the back deck, where the party will take place. Upon my drive back I was reveling in the thought that we really lucked out with the landscaping that had been done by a previous owner of our property. There are birch trees, four evergreen trees, and a gorgeous, red maple tree on the property. There are wonderful perennials that bloom at different times, like forsythia, daffodils, lilac, and azaleas to name a few. The annuals that I will buy and plant this coming weekend will be just more of a pop of color to enhance our gardens. No wonder my heart leapt at the thought of calling our gathering a “garden party!” This is an example of anabolic (constructive, building up) energy.
As I reached our large residential neighborhood in the Neshaminy Creek Watershed area in Bucks County Pennsylvania, I pondered anew the incredible beauty here. There are trees that bloom in absolute splendor this season, like cherries, pears, tulip magnolias, and dogwoods. There are many trees growing their green and red leaves in haste now. Many people have perennials and annuals growing in their yards. Some even have bushes that are shaped in beautiful topiary ways. In other words, our whole neighborhood is a breath-taking garden!
As I started out my walk upon my return home this morning, I took another step back in my thinking and concluded that there are gardens everywhere!! One need only be aware of the absolute beauty that abounds! This is an example of meta-view, taking steps back and seeing an even bigger picture.
What is bubbling up and waiting to inspire you to contemplate that which your heart, head and intuition desire to express today?
